Spring: a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be. ~Anonymous

As we all enjoy moving into Spring, we at the Elimination of Prejudice Foundation would like to take a minute to remind everyone of our VISION: A society where appreciation of and respect for differences creates better understanding among people.

As part of that vision, we ask you to join us in observing May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.

In 2004, the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia was established to bring awareness to the violence and discrimination experience by lesbian, “gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and all other people with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities or expressions and sex characteristics.”  ~may17.org

Why May 17? On May 17, 1990, the World Health Organization declared that homosexuality will no longer be considered a mental disorder.  Although the LGBTQ+ community has made great strides forward over the last 32 years, negative and malignant bias and phobias continue to persist.

We invite you to visit www.May17.org to educate yourself further and learn about the international initiatives around May 17. This is a chance as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, as an ally, as a brother, sister, partner, friend, to learn and help reduce the negativity and promote the positivity.

Be part of the beautiful change.
